Newcastle Subaru will open to the public this week with a special three-day re-launch party (5-7 May), giving visitors the chance to witness one of the UK’s hottest artistic talents in action and become amongst the first to see Subaru’s acclaimed new sportscar, the BRZ.

Ian Cook, also known as Popbang Colour (www.popbangcolour.com) is famous for painting pictures of iconic cars and celebrities in a unique style by employing radio-controlled cars as paintbrushes.  The artist will be creating artwork at the dealership on Saturday 5th and Monday 7th May, painting artworks of the new Subaru XV compact-crossover and the limited edition Subaru Impreza RB320, launched in 2007 in memory of legendary World Rally Championship winner Richard Burns.

The dealership, based on Queen Alexandra Road West in North Shields, Newcastle, will be running a prize raffle and charity collection throughout the weekend, with all proceeds to be donated to the Richard Burns Foundation, which supports those affected by brain and spine injury and illness.

Visitors to the showroom’s launch party will also get an early viewing of Subaru’s latest stunning model, the BRZ sportscar that has received rave reviews across the automotive press.  The car is due to go on sale in the summer and will be one of the first public airings of the car in the UK.  Complimentary refreshments will also be available throughout the weekend.

“We’re looking forward to welcoming visitors to our showroom over the weekend, and we’re certain that Subaru’s practical and reliable model range will appeal to buyers in the region,” comments Paul Flitton, Dealer Principal, Newcastle Subaru.  “We wanted to do something a little different for the re-launch of the dealership, and inviting one of the UK’s most exciting young artists to paint in the showroom over the weekend will be a huge draw,” adds Flitton.  “We’ve also got a rare treat for car enthusiasts in the form of the Subaru BRZ, one of the most exciting cars being launched to the UK market this year.”
