Over 20,000 winter sport enthusiasts attended the recent Subaru-sponsored Ski and Board Show at the NEC, and they were treated to some gravity-defying stunt action.

The Big Air Freestyle Show, which saw the only 2010 UK appearance of the renowned Big Air Demo team, wowed visitors with some truly breath-taking aerobatics.  The talented troupe of ski and board aerialists – which counts former Olympic and World Cup champions among its number – put on an incredible display as they fearlessly launched themselves  off a 14-metre-high hydraulic ramp with jaw-dropping 40-degree departure angle.

The team members are household names among extreme sport fans.  Athletes like Daschinsky Dmitri from Belarus, the Swiss, Andreas Isoz, Italians Chicco Ciapponi and Danny Morandini and Britain’s own Sarah Ainsworth were all on hand to enthral the enthusiastic NEC crowd.

Ski and Board Show organiser, John Cooper, said: “The aerial antics of the Big Air Demo team are always a huge hit with the crowds at the show, and this year was no different.  The skiers and boarders involved are top athletes and this really shows in the technical ability they demonstrate.”

Subaru UK Marketing Director, Kenyon Neads, added: “Our links with the skiing and boarding fraternity are well known, but it was still refreshing to see so many show goers take a break from the Big Air action and stop by our stand.  It was also interesting to note how many of the European ski-resort-based exhibitors were themselves Subaru owners.  Proof indeed that those who need AWD buy Subaru.”

The 2011 Ski and Board Show is scheduled to take place on 28 – 30 October.  For details, please or call 0844 581 0734.  Alternatively you can download the Ski and Board Show app, free of charge, from the Apple iTunes store.
